Summer Camp At the Port Jefferson Music Academy

The Port Jefferson Music Academy Chamber Music Day Camp provides an opportunity for students of all levels to grow musically in an inspiring environment and to immerse themselves in chamber music and personal musical growth. A typical day will begin with vocalizing and study of Bach chorales followed by vibrant chamber music coachings in various configurations with assigned groups. The daily schedule will also include music theory labs and workshops on various topics such as free improvisation and jazz. Each session will culminate in performances of the works studied over the course of the session.
Workshop participants may range in age from 5 to 18. Experienced young musicians will be assigned to chamber music groups according to their age and level, and will receive daily coaching on specific chamber music works to be studied over the course of the workshop. Students who are at an introductory level will receive daily group classes in performance and note-reading, as well as yoga, arts and crafts and movement classes.
